Brand Discovery

Brand Discovery

To kick things off with The Raven Corps, we began with weekly strategy calls with Founder & Executive Director, Claire Howe, and with Youth Director, Cami Hoffman. Our primary objective was to gain a big picture view of the organization's operation thus far, to determine and help define their overall mission, vision, values, voice, and audience that would drive their creative direction.

To encapsulate findings and present the creative vision going forward, we created a holistic Brand Discovery document to share with the larger team and get everyone on board.

To kick things off with The Raven Corps, we began with weekly strategy calls with Founder & Executive Director, Claire Howe, and with Youth Director, Cami Hoffman. In collaboration with Dapper Digital.

The Raven Corps' previous website lived on Squarespace—a scrappy DIY site that just didn't provide site longevity or show the true depth of the organization's work. It was time for both a creative and technical glow up, meaning a move to WordPress.

Next came content strategy. Many conversations ensued to determine primary site goals, key audience personas, and technical needs, which resulted in a total content overhaul (new navigation, new copy, new images, oh my!)

In collaboration with development partner Cee Webster of Dapper Digital, wireframes were created for desktop and mobile to communicate newly proposed site architecture and content to the Ravens. With all parties on board, we carried a new brand identity into a total homepage redesign, and created an extensive library of content blocks to be used site-wide.

After a transition to WordPress and successful launch of their new site, the Ravens could not be happier with the end result. A site that was once clunky and generic is now expertly branded, easy to navigate, and showcases the best of this youth organization with a lot of heart.

By creating key content buckets and post templates, the Ravens would never again wonder what and when to post on Instagram. And by ensuring all posts aligned with the updated brand vision, the Raven's are now able to connect with their audience in a way that feels consistent and authentic.

Since the revamp, The Raven Corps has nearly doubled their following and has utilized their strategy and post templates to brilliantly tackle all social media in-house.
